You could be forgiven for expecting it will be 'chronically painful' for
you to read and consider what follows. But my hope is that it isn't too
unbearable to read about the different aspects of chronic pain affecting
millions of us.

So Easy to be Misunderstood

A major risk in writing stuff that speaks to the effects of chronic health conditions, is that it is so easy to be misunderstood. If you have any doubts...try it. I have put off writing this piece for this very reason. Like two American Indian senior-aged ladies waiting in the bus shelter after visiting their local Trading Store. One lady pulled a beautiful rug from a bag to show her friend. It was covered in beautiful colours and designs. She said to her friend, "I got this for my husband" The friend replied instantly, "Good swap!"

A recent eye check showed a decline in my sight. The Optometrist said, "I won't sugar-coat it, you are going blind." He couldn't give a time line but that's where I'm headed. I did wonder but he confirmed it. If a roiling stomach and mind is any clue, then I'm not ready for this, though I thought I was. A grand delusion. Finding appropriate software that works for me is still out there somewhere.

Feeling sorry for myself? I hope not. I understand if a reader thinks that is the case. So easy to be misunderstood. I guess there are things to help but I'm not there yet.
