About Distractions
The idea of distractions stood out to me quite a bit during our recent trip to Tassie. There are good distractions and bad ones. And most of us can tell the difference between them fairly quickly. Good ones help create a healthy life balance. Bad ones don't.
In my case, learning to give my grandchildren my undivided attention left no room to think about my health issues. The scary thing is, they intuitively know when my attention wanders even when I'm looking at them. Listening to and talking with some else shifts attention off myself for a while. It doesn't cure my conditions but it does give my mind a rest from asking myself questions for which I know I don't have an answer. A good thing, I reckon.
